Senior Project Coordinator

Organization

The Muskoka Community Land Trust (MCLT) is a community-led, nonprofit organization dedicated to acquiring and stewarding land in Muskoka to develop permanently affordable housing, social enterprises, and food security initiatives.

By holding land on behalf of the community, MCLT aims to balance individual needs for secure housing with broader community goals, such as maintaining housing affordability, preventing displacement of vulnerable residents, and promoting economic and social inclusion.

MCLT has won a transformative grant that will open the door to other funding partner participation in the capital costs of building 179 units of green, clean, purpose built rental housing. This grant will allow us to develop and document the processes required to bring a project of this magnitude from vision to breaking ground, and will result in a template for other non-profit housing organizations across Ontario to replicate demonstrated proof of concept rather than building new models from scratch
