The Town of Bracebridge can invest in community wealth by prioritizing downtown housing that is:
Not for Profit
Committed to local economic development
Governed by community
Climate resilient
REPLICATION ACROSS MUSKOKA
The Muskoka Community Land Trust envisions a portfolio of community-owned assets across the region and is working to identify underused land for community gardens, gathering space, community services, and permanently affordable housing. Proposals for sites in Bracebridge and Lake of Bays are in progress, and we welcome the opportunity to get involved in your community.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & GOVERNANCE
Democratic participation and community-led governance are key principles of the Muskoka Community Land Trust. As a membership-driven organization, we are committed to continuously engaging diverse voices, including people with core housing needs, and as a land stewardship organization, we have a responsibility to meaningfully consult with Indigenous rights holders.
